Exhibit: Celeste Rogers - Vertical Beings

Exhibit runs November 1-30Opening reception: Saturday November 7, 3-6pmOpen during all events, or email us to schedule a different time to viewVertical Beings presents new works that explore a condition of existing and making, considering life forms rooted and entwined with earth yet compelled skyward- caught in the strange in between of gravity and transcendence.Celeste Rogers is a contemporary artist from Chicago currently based in the Gateway Arts District of Washington, DC. Her process-driven practice hybridizes painting, drawing, and surface construction. She approaches painting as a living system, allowing physicality, bodily gesture, and material behavior to shape each work. Contrasting dense mark-making with atmospheric washes, her paintings move between physical presence and dreamlike ambiguity, inviting shifting states of perception.
