Play the Moment (David Razowsky Master Class)
Saturday, November 7, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. Prerequisite: Level 2 improv classes or permission of the instructor and principal. The challenge for most improvisers is trying to stick to âthe rulesâ and believing âYes, andâ is the magic formula for a successful scene. Characters meander and never find their footing. In an instant, you travel from a state of fluidity to a mess of frustration and ask yourself, âHow did I go wrong?â or âNow what?â These masterclasses provide methods and exercises that teach you to connect to your partner and the scene without worrying about the rules. Play the Moment: A moment means a pause, a reflection between lines of dialogue. It gives you time to embrace the silence and respond truthfully to what's happening in the scene. A moment can also indicate a profound change to the scene. In this workshop, you'll recognize the power of playing a moment and allow yourself to feel the impact of silence. About the instructor: David Razowsky studied, performed, taught, and directed at Second City with performers Stephen Colbert, Steve Carrell, and Michael Keegan-Key, among many others. He went on to serve as Artistic Director of Second City Hollywood for nine years before turning his attention to full-time coaching. He has directed and taught his methodology to individuals and groups in the US and worldwide. All sales are final. There are no refunds or exchanges.
