How it works

  1. Add your event

Name, date and time, place, price and a photo. It takes about three minutes, and you can preview it exactly as people will see it.

  2. We take a quick look

A real person checks every listing, usually within 24 hours. If something needs fixing, we'll email you a note.

  3. Go live

Your event appears in the feed, search, filters and the map, credited “Listed by” you. Edit, cancel or delete it any time.

Why list on Planit

  • Free, no ticket fees. People go to your page to buy or RSVP.
  • Seen where people plan. Your event shows in the feed, search, category filters and the map for the DMV, on the web and in the iPhone app.
  • Credited to you. Every listing says “Listed by” with your name.
  • Easy to keep current. Edit, cancel or delete from My events; it drops off by itself after the event.

Tips for a great listing

  • Use the event's real name, not a slogan. “Fall Makers Market” beats “DON'T MISS THIS!!”.
  • Add a bright, wide photo of the event itself (not a flyer full of text). It shows across the top of the card.
  • Give the exact street address so the event shows on the map and people can find the door.
  • Say who it's for and what to expect in the first sentence of the description.
  • Link the page where people buy tickets or RSVP. Skip short links; we need the real page.
  • Repeating event? List the dates once with “Every week” or “Specific dates” instead of separate listings.

Questions

How much does it cost?

Nothing. Listing an event on Planit is free, and there are no fees on tickets: people buy or RSVP on your own page.

How long does review take?

Usually within 24 hours, often sooner. You'll get an email when it's live, or a note if we need a change. Organizers with a track record of good listings can be set to publish instantly.

Can I edit or cancel it later?

Yes. Open Me → My events to edit, cancel or delete a listing at any time. Edits to a live listing get a quick re-check; the current version stays up meanwhile.

What can I list?

Public events in the area: concerts, markets, classes open to all, shows, sports, meetups, family days, festivals, online events from local organizers and more. Free or ticketed.

What isn't allowed?

Private parties, ads for products or services, personal fundraisers, adult content, anything hateful, dangerous or illegal, and events that aren't real. See the Terms for the full rules.

Who sees my email?

Only our team. It's used to tell you about your listing and is never shown on Planit or shared.

Full rules: Terms, “Listing an event”. Other questions: Help & support.
